When the Navy ship HMS Jemima is taken by pirates in the Caribbean, Lieutenant John Roberts agrees to go over to the pirate ship as a captive, to ensure that the pirates don’t hurt his men.
What he isn’t expecting is his instant and intense attraction to the pirate captain, Richard Granville – or that when Granville demands that John pleasure him, he would agree instantly, even though the Bible says that it’s a sin, even though he’s married.
John has never been attracted to a man before, but he wants Granville more than he’s ever wanted anyone.
Will he be able to resist him – and does he really want to?
In Book Three, John is slowly accepting his attraction to Granville and wants to explore it – something Granville is more than happy to help him with. But his revelations are cut short when the pirate ship is caught in a terrible storm that threatens not only their blossoming relationship, but the ship itself.

Granville cocks his head, and then startles John more than almost anything that’s happened so far by giving him a gentle kiss. “Why do you insist on saying that it’s wrong to do this?”
“Sex outside of marriage is always wrong. Sex between two men is a sin. And then rest – I don’t even know what to say about the rest.”
“Other than that you like it.”
John inclines his head and swallows. “That I do,” he whispers.
“So why not accept it? It’s a part of yourself. It feels good. Do you truly believe that being with another man is so wrong?”
“You don’t understand. I’ve never done anything like this. And when you let me go – assuming you let me go – then I never will again. This isn’t something I’ve ever wanted, Granville. Not with anyone but you.”
That sounds foolish, he knows, but he also knows it to be true. When he returns to his normal life, he will never do anything like this again. Part of him rails against that thought – this week has been incredible, glorious, full of pleasures he had no idea even existed, pleasures that have changed his life, changed him, irrevocably. But he knows too that he meant what he said: he wants no-one like this but Granville.
Granville doesn’t speak for a moment; instead he lifts a hand and brushes John’s hair from his eyes before kissing his forehead.
“Once we get shipshape again, we have perhaps a week until we get to port,” Granville says. “Maybe more if the weather continues to play merry hell with us. If you still want to go when we get there, you are free to leave. But until then, I will be happy to indulge all your wildest fantasies.”
“I don’t have wild fantasies. But-” John stops, licks his lips. If he says this – if he agrees to this – surely he is damning himself. But then, surely he can’t get any more damned. Looking up at Granville, into his handsome face, John feels his resolve grow. If he is damned already he might as well give himself up to it completely. “But I am sure you do. And I’d like to see them. I want to please you, Captain.”
Granville’s smile widens and he kisses John again, a little heat behind it this time. “A week until we get to port,” he repeats. “A week to explore my fantasies. Oh John,” he says. “You have no idea what you’re getting yourself in for.”
“Just – let us discuss them before we act on them.”
“Oh, so you want to listen to some dirty talk before getting dirty yourself, hmm?” Granville asks, and John hits him lightly on the arm.
“You are incorrigible, Granville.”
“That I am, John,” Granville says with a laugh. “And you wouldn’t have me any other way.”
